The 2022 Edition of the Tony Stephens Club Classic has been run and won,

What an epic weekend of racing by all who attended.

 

With the battle raging over the first three rounds it was down to the last round to provide the overall Trophy winners for the weekend.

 

Both Tamiya GT and F1 ran to a slightly different schedule to the Touring Cars, with 2 x 10 lap heats, followed by a full reverse grid 20 lapper, before the main event of 30 laps for GT and 40 laps for F1.

 

In GT was a two horse race between Gavin Dawson and Shane Millar, with Shane succumbing to some rare mechanical issues robbing him of a podium place in the 30 lapper. Gavin Dawson lead from tone to tone and lapped the field. Results 1st Gavin Dawson, 2nd Paul Fey 3rd James Anderson.

 

Formula 1 was dominated by Neville Bishop right from Race 1 and wasn’t really heeded at all, Colin Storey Anthony Mara, Gavin Dawson battled all meeting long for the balance of the positions. Results 1st Neville Bishop, 2nd Colin Storey, 3rd Anthony Mara.

 

TCR FWD This class just keeps getting better and better, with a 19 car field it was going to be intense, and it did not fail to produce so great racing. Pressure was on Murray Watson to see if he could maintain his points lead and domination he has been showing all season long, But Colin Storey and Simon Noton, brought their a game and proceeded to dominate, upping the ante with faster and faster race times. Results 1st Simon Noton, 2nd Colin Storey, 3rd Murray Watson.

 

21.5 Touring  Usual dominate Gael Bueno Ware took wins in races 2 and 3 but where it matter in race 4 he could only manage 5th spot over all, again the level in this class each meeting is getting faster and faster. Results 1st Simon Noton 2nd Neville Bishop 3rd Anthony Mara.

 

13.5 Touring this class was tight at the top in each race between current points leader Gael Bueno Ware, Anthony Mara, Jamie Holme and Simon Noton. Again the lap times kept falling and the racing got more and more spectacular to watch. Results 1st Jamie Holmes 2nd Gael Bueno Ware 3rd Anthony Mara.

 

Mod Touring, Finally the fastest class we run Mod Touring with Gael making the jump into this class as a toe dip for next season, he didn’t disappoint, showing the stalwarts a thing or two along the way with some epic moves for position over the course of the day.

Results 1st Simon Noton 2nd Gael Bueno Ware 3rd Jamie Holmes.

Next Meeting is Sunday the 18th of September, all standard club classes are running , and back to standard race format.
